Almost everyone wipes screens down or hoses them off. Neither works. Screen mesh is a grid of thousands of tiny openings, and dirt bonds around each strand rather than resting on the surface. Wiping flattens it in. Rinsing takes the loose part and leaves the rest.
We take every screen off the window and run it through a screen cleaning machine - running water and bristle brushes working the mesh from both sides - then detail the frame by hand before it goes back on.
